Out of the box setup

Checklist Overview:

  • Harris Aerial performs comprehensive pre-shipment checks to ensure all systems are functional and up-to-date. This includes software installation, firmware updates, system calibration, and performance testing.

User Responsibility:

  • Upon receiving the drone, the user will need to reattach antennas. Ensure that all connections are secure and properly oriented.

Installation & Setup

Version Updates:

Clients should not update the system version (Microsoft updates) without consulting Harris Aerial.

  • Support Check: Contact Harris Aerial support to verify if the latest operating system updates are compatible with the drone’s system.
  • Needs Basis: System updates should only be performed if necessary and recommended by the support team.

Mission Planner Information

As of July 16th 2024,

Current Use:

  • The main purpose of Mission Planner at this point is for telemetry and secondary system operations.
  • Future Plans: Harris Aerial is moving towards HAGC (Harris Aerial Ground Control) and plans to deprecate Mission Planner software in the near future.

Software Troubleshooting

Common Glitches: Troubleshooting

  • Delete and reinstall the Mission Planner or HAGC folder to resolve common glitches.
  • Radio interference can cause screen and mouse glitches with Mission Planner.
  • Solution: Keep the carrier link further away from laptops and avoid placing it near Bluetooth devices.

  • Navigate to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps and Features.

  • Select Mission Planner or HAGC and click uninstall.

  • If you need to reinstall HAGC on your Android device, please contact Harris Aerial using the provided form.

  • Mission Planner software is compatible with Windows devices.
  • Unsupported OS: Compatibility with Linux or Apple operating systems cannot be guaranteed.

Updating & Upgrading Software

Always check with the Harris Aerial team before running any software or operating system updates recommended by your device.

Folder Deletion:

  • Ensure all Harris Aerial Mission Planner folders are deleted from the documents section on the CGCS or any laptop before updating any software or operating system versions.
