Training & Operational Best Practices
Basic Flight Training
Pre-Flight Preparation:
- Define mission and site survey.
- Check weather, airspace, LAANC, and perform aeronautical decision making (ADM)
- Determine emergency and rally points.
- Identify hazards and safety observations.
- Plan for visual observer and crew resource management (CRM).
- Ensure all equipment and batteries are charged.
Pre-Flight Checks:
- Inspect the aircraft, batteries, and ground station/controller.
- Ensure the launch area is free of debris and tall grass.
- Select the best takeoff and RTL location (flat and level).
- Unfold booms and lock arms, unfold propellers.
- Ensure all antennas and payload are secure.
- Power on the controller/GCS, drone, laptop, and carrier link.
- Launch GCS software and connect the RID module (drone ID).
- Check RTL settings.
Post-Flight Actions:
- Power down camera/LiDAR if needed.
- Unplug drone batteries.
- Power down the controller/GCS.
- Inspect for damage, including propellers, arms, motors, and airframe.
- Store the drone, gimbal/camera/LiDAR, and antennas properly.
- Fold landing gear and secure in the case .
